I'm trying to make a polygonal looking low-res landscape. I made a box and set it to have 20x20 divisions across the top. I Then went into the modeler, vertex editing, and moved 10 or so vertices up or down. I can see they are up or down but the renderer doesn't show any change in shading. I tried adding a directional light. No luck. I added a sphere and I can see that it is lit and shaded correctly.
Is there a way to the box to do what I want (look flat shaded)? I thought maybe I needed to run some auto-smoother on it to re-generate faces based on the difference in angles between the faces but I wasn't able to find that option. I found the "auto smooth" feature but it seemed to have no settings for me to set an angle below which things are smoothed and above which they are not.
Is there some way to do that?
To give an example of what I'm going for something like
So just doing the ground at the moment. Started with a box, starting pulling up vertices to give it some bumpiness but have not been able to figure out how to get Clara.io to display the bumpiness (flat shade it or generate new faces and normals)
