If I have a scene containing no lights, and I turn the scene's ambient light to #000000 (black) and intensity 0, surely any object should appear black?
Surely the diffuse color of an object (with a standard material assigned to it) shouldn't be visible. Maybe even the ambient color shouldn't be visible then either, but isn't the ambient color supposed to sohw up where there is no light shining on an object. The diffuse color always seems to dominate the ambient one.
Or in other words, what's the point of the ambient color property? It seems to be dominated by the diffuse colour.
And why does the diffuse colour show up even when there's no light?
