I am wondering what the similarities and differences between Blender-style skeletal animation and animation in Clara.io are. My question is two-fold. I have a rigged model in Blender which I am able to animate smoothly. I tried uploading it to Clara as a .blend as well as a .stl but in both instances, the bones/rigging didn't import, or rather the entire model was merged into one object. My first question is this: was I using the wrong file format? If so, what is the correct format?
My second question is more general: to what extent is the animation in the two programs similar? I.e. had my model uploaded in its entirety, would I be able to animate it in a click-and-drag/ragdoll fashion or can I only do so by changing the scaling, translation, and rotation factors? Can I make a rig where the bones interact with each other as they do in Blender?
Thank you very much for your help.
